Scullin Stronger Communities Programme Round 6 - Expressions of Interest

Round 6 of the Scullin Stronger Communities Programme has started. Grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 will be available to fund small capital projects that improve local community participation and contribute to vibrant and viable communities.

For this special round, the grant funding for each project will be up to 100 per cent of eligible project costs, except for local government bodies. Local government bodies will be required to provide matched funding contributions.

Incorporated not-for-profit organisations and local governments are eligible to apply. Applicants must be a legal entity and have an ABN. Further information is available on the Federal Government's business.gov.au website.

Funding of $150,000 is available for the Federal Electorate of Scullin.

Examples of projects that may be funded include:

  • Fit out, alterations and/or extensions to existing premises e.g. Air-conditioning, kitchen upgrades, TVs, furniture, fixtures and fittings, painting;
  • Sporting facility upgrades including new scoreboards, spectator seating, goal posts, new turf, fit out of change rooms, new canteen, new lights, medical equipment, upgrade drainage and water systems, gymnasiums;
  • Upgrade of facilities to provide inclusive access;
  • Acquisition of equipment such as ICT hardware and associated software;
  • Purchase of equipment for local SES and rural fire brigades;
  • Upgrade or installation of park furniture including shade/shelters, BBQs, toilet facilities, drinking fountains;
  • Upgrades, construction and fit-out of community spaces e.g. Men’s sheds, community centres, scout halls etc.;
  • Development or upgrade of bike paths, skate parks, streetscapes or community gardens;
  • The purchase of musical instruments, sports equipment and uniforms that remain the property of the organisation; and
  • Acquiring vehicles and trailers for community transport/services and medical transport.

The Scullin Stronger Communities Consultation Committee, comprising community members, will consider the expressions of interest, and will help to identify which projects will be invited to apply for a grant.
