Minister Andrews must explain why she allowed right-wing troll Katie Hopkins into Australia.

Minister Andrews has labelled Katie Hopkins as ‘despicable’, her behaviour as ‘shameful’, ‘absolutely appalling’ and ‘a slap in the face for all those Australians who are currently in lockdown’, and said Ms Hopkins was ‘clearly not someone that we want to keep in this country for a second longer than we have to’.

But there’s been no explanation from the government about why they enabled Ms Hopkins to enter Australia in the first place.

Minister Andrews must explain why she decided Ms Hopkins met the character test and could come to Australia, while 35,000 Australians remain stranded overseas.

The Minister must also explain what economic benefits she believed were going to flow to the Australian community by allowing a right-wing troll to enter the country.

Blaming the NSW government is not good enough, responsibility for this decision rests entirely with Minister Andrews.
