Federal Labor welcomes Victoria’s teacher entry standard reforms, launched today by Victorian Education Minister James Merlino.
“Reforms that help improve teaching quality are critical to making sure every child, in every school, gets every opportunity,” Shadow Assistant Minister for Schools, Andrew Giles, said.
“We want our best and brightest students to pursue a career in teaching.
“That’s why Labor will always work to get teachers the support they need perform at their best,” Mr Giles said.
“Unfortunately, Simon Birmingham and the federal Coalition government are more interested in cutting money from education than looking at real policy reforms that can make a positive difference for our teachers, students and schools.”
