A re-elected Albanese Labor Government will deliver funding to the Multifunction Centre for the Board of Imams Victoria in Thomastown.
The $1.5 million commitment will help deliver upgrades to office spaces, transform the hall into a dedicated community and gathering space, a fitness centre and meeting rooms to facilitate services provided by the organisation.
This upgrade will support the organisation to meet community needs and provide a productive work environment for staff and volunteers.
The Board of Imams Victoria provides important services such as mental health counselling, family and marriage counselling, and youth training programs. The organisation also delivers workshops on family violence skill development, men’s behaviour and positive parenting.
For the Muslim community within Thomastown and beyond, this investment will provide cultural and religious support, help foster unity and strengthen ties within the diverse Muslim community.
Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
